The answer is grace. If our hearts are the problem, if we are the cause of what is wrong because of our rebellion against God then we need to put it right. However, no amount of self help will do. If we just try to be good it doesn't happen. We need something more radical!
That is what grace is. Grace is the free gift of God in sending his Son, Jesus, into the world to die in our place, punished for our sins, dying our death. So that he pays for our rebellion, God treats him as we should be treated, and we in turn are treated as Jesus should be treated; credited with his right standing before God, adopted and viewed as God's sons and heirs and have a great future to look forward to.
Jesus resurrection from the dead proves that death is beaten and that Jesus is who he said he was and can do what he said he would do. It proves grace works. The lives of his followers ever since give more evidence to back that up - grace works!
Why not visit your local church to see grace at work in the lives of those you find there? Or sign up for a course looking at who Jesus is and the grace he offers.
